Message from the Medical Superintendent-cum-Vice Principal of Rampurhat Government Medical College & Hospital.

M

Dr. To be announced MS (Surgery) Medical Superintendent-cum- Vice Principal, RPHGMCH

FROM THE MSVP'S DESK

Committed to Excellence in Patient Care

On behalf of the entire hospital administration of Rampurhat Government Medical College & Hospital, I extend a warm welcome to all patients, attendants, students, and visitors. As the Medical Superintendent-cum-Vice Principal, my foremost responsibility is to ensure that the hospital functions as a true centre of healing — where every patient receives timely, dignified, and effective care regardless of their background or means.

Since the hospital became fully operational in 2019, we have witnessed remarkable growth in both patient footfall and the range of services offered. Today, RPHGMCH is equipped with over 600 beds across general wards, private rooms, and specialised units. Our 24×7 emergency and casualty department handles hundreds of cases each month, including critical trauma, obstetric emergencies, and paediatric cases. The operationalisation of the ICU and NICU in 2021, and the licensing of our blood bank, have significantly enhanced our critical care capabilities.

We are particularly proud of the role we play in implementing the Government of West Bengal's flagship health schemes. Under Swasthya Sathi and other state-sponsored programmes, patients from economically weaker sections receive medicines, investigations, and procedures free of charge. Our daily OPD across all major specialities ensures that the people of Birbhum and surrounding districts have access to quality outpatient care without the burden of long-distance travel.

Looking ahead, we are actively planning to expand our dialysis capacity, strengthen the trauma centre, and upgrade our diagnostic imaging services. The new OPD block currently under construction will further ease patient flow and improve the overall healthcare experience. I assure all stakeholders that the hospital administration remains fully committed to continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and the highest standards of clinical governance.
